Department store Brown Thomas has announced its Christmas shop is being opened on Thursday.

The Christmas Shop will be based at its stores in Dublin, Cork and Limerick.

The seasonal shops showcase decorations, Christmas trees and gift ideas across a variety of festive themes.

The windows of the department stores will also be decked out in Christmas garb.

Last year's theme celebrated the art of the Christmas greeting card.

Brown Thomas creative director John Redmond says: "Every year we reflect on the previous Christmas and develop our theme, the most important part of the Christmas windows is to create amazing memories for our customers.

"Our aim is to offer that special Brown Thomas magic to our much valued customer, the season begins when our windows open."
