The Canadian immigration & citizenship website buckled on Tuesday night local time as results from the US seemed to show a strong showing for Donald Trump.
Some media reports suggested the website had crashed, while our visits to the site brought up repeated 'internal server errors'.
It may just be an unfortunate coincidence - but going by the mood of many Trump critics, the website will almost certainly be seeing extra traffic in the increasingly likely event of a Trump presidency.
Other media outlets, including The Telegraph, highlighted a boost in US Google searches for the word 'emigrate'.
