Gardai have launched investigation following a crash which claimed the life of a teenage motorcyclist.
The collision happened on Cherry Orchard Avenue just before 8am this morning.
The male teen was taken by ambulance to St James's Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
A second motorcyclist, a man aged in his early 20s, was also taken to hospital. However, his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
The road at Cherry Orchard Avenue is closed to traffic and local diversions are in place.
Local Sinn Fein Cllr Daithi Doolan has offered his sympathies to those involved saying "it is a very sad day", particularly for the families involved.
