Gardaí in Dundalk have confirmed they are investigating the circumstances behind a large fire at a premises near Haggardstown, just south of the town.
It is understood that a number of cars, possibly running into dozens, could be on the premises.
Gardai say the fire broke out shortly after 7.20pm this evening.
Locals and motorists in the area are being advised to close their windows due to the toxic nature of the fumes surrounding the blaze.

It is not yet known how many have been effected by the blaze.
Emergency services are at the scene and there are no reports of any injuries.
