The rise of on-demand film & TV services such as Netflix does not seem to be harming Ireland's love of the cinema.
New figures show we spent €99m at the movies last year - marking a €3m rise on the 2013 amount.
According to Rentrak EDI, which compiles the figures, €38m has been spent at the box office so far this year - with the summer blockbuster season only just getting into gear.
Avengers: Age of Ultron movie has been the biggest hit so far, taking in nearly €2.8m since it was released last month.
Fast and Furious 7 is the second highest grossing film of the year at €2.72m, with Fifty Shades of Grey at €2.6m.
Current releases including Home, Pitch Perfect 2, and Mad Max: Fury Road have also proven popular with audiences.
The healthy box office is likely to continue for the rest of the summer, with many high profile films and sequels due in the coming weeks - including Jurassic World, Ant-Man, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Ted 2, Minions, Terminator: Genysis and Disney/Pixar's Inside Out.
The rest of the year also sees plenty of big name releases, such as Pan, Pixar's The Good Dinosaur and the final Hunger Games film - and of course Star Wars: The Force Awakens in December.
