Statements of support and sympathy have come in for Karen Buckley and her family from all around the country.
It comes after human remains have been found in Scotland during the search for the missing Irish student.
The Foreign Affairs Minister Charlie Flanagan expressed his sympathies to her family and friends.
In a statement, Mr Flanagan said :"I am greatly saddened by the news emerging that Scottish police believe that a body discovered near Glasgow may be that of Karen Buckley."
"All of our thoughts and prayers are with Karen's parents, John and Marian, and with all of her family and friends at this tragic time."
"On behalf of the government, I wish to express appreciation for all that has been done by the Scottish authorities, and especially Police Scotland in Glasgow, to find Karen and to support the Buckley family throughout this very difficult time."

In the Dáil, messages of sympathy and support have been expressed to the Buckley family - including from Tánaiste Joan Burton.
She says what has happened is "every parent's nightmare".
Parish priest in Mourneabbey, Fr Joe O'Keeffe, says the community is standing by the Buckley family at this difficult time.
Susan O'Keeffe is principal of Analeentha National School. She remembers Karen Buckley as a pupil.
While the Minister of State for North South Co-operation, and TD for Cork-East, Seán Sherlock, has expressed his sadness at the news.
Speaking this morning, Mr Sherlock said: "This is deeply upsetting news for the Buckley family and the entire community in Mallow and North Cork."
"My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Karen in Mourneabbey, Cork, Glasgow and throughout the world," he added.
Southern correspondent with the Irish Independent Ralph Riegel told the Pat Kenny Show here on Newstalk the community is standing strong with the Buckley family.
And the University of Limerick, from where Ms Buckley was a nursing graduate, say they have been "deeply saddened" by her disappearance.
"Karen was a very valued member of the UL Community as well as the wider nursing and medical communities in Limerick, having spent time working in both the University Hospital Limerick and the University Maternity Hospital."
"The thoughts of the entire UL community are with her parents and family and her wide circle of friends as well as her UL classmates and medical colleagues."
