A man in his 60s has died in an industrial accident on a farm in the Virginia area of Co Cavan this afternoon.

Northern Sound reports that the 69-year-old man, believed to be from the Killinkere area, was fatally injured whilst working on the roof of a shed at a farm in the Cormaddyduff area in Virginia when it's understood he fell.

It happened at around 1.15pm this afternoon.

The HSA have been notified and two separate investigations are underway - by them and the Gardaí.
