Irish actress Saoirse Ronan is to host iconic US sketch show Saturday Night Live in December.
The Academy Award nominee will helm the programme on December 2nd - which will also feature U2 as musical guests.

Saturday Night Live, famed for its uncanny sketches of well-known politicains and celebrities, is in its 43rd season.
The show has featured comedy performers like Tina Fey, Jimmy Fallon, Kate McKinnon and Molly Shannon.
Some of the biggest names in the world have also hosted the show, such as Candice Bergen, Tom Hanks, Emma Stone, Cameron Diaz, Melissa McCarthy, John Goodman and Alec Baldwin.

The programme has been named as one of the Top 100 Entertainers of the past 50 years by Entertainment Weekly.
It has also won 64 Emmy Awards, the most for any show in US television history.
