The Taoiseach Enda Kenny says the government is happy for the Comptroller and Auditor General (C&AG) to investigate the sale of Siteserv by the former Anglo Irish Bank.

Mr Kenny also says there will be a further release of documents under Freedom of Information tomorrow, that will clarify clearly the position of the finance minister relating to the deal.

Leaders questions in the Dáil has again been dominated by the sale of the company by the IBRC to Denis O'Brien's Millington, at a loss to the taxpayer of €100m.

Fianna Fáil and Sinn Féin have demanded an independent inquiry into the deal.

Mr Kenny says the interests of the taxpayer can be served by the C&AG.

In a statement released last night, the IBRC former chairman Alan Dukes said there was nothing improper about the deal.

"I categorically reject suggestions that there was any impropriety in the sale of Siteserv by IBRC in March 2012. All aspects of the sale were considered in detail by the board of the bank and the decision made was considered to be the best course of action available, in the interests of the shareholder and of the State," Mr Dukes said.

Earlier the Finance Minister Michael Noonan said he was 'satisfied' he took 'sufficient' action over the sale of SiteServ.
