150 new jobs are on the way to Dublin.

SAS software is opening a new sales and customer services centre in the capital.

The €40m investment will see customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa served initially from the Nexus UCD facility in Belfield.

The jobs will be created over three years, wcich will see the workforce increase six-fold.

This has been supported by the Department of Jobs through IDA Ireland.

The roles will include multi-lingual business development and sales specialists, customer engagement specialists, data scientists and software engineers.

Making the announcement, Taoiseach Enda Kenny said: “I have discussed investment opportunities with SAS executives at several occasions in recent years and I'm delighted to see this investment decision come to fruition".

Carl Farrell, executive vice president at SAS, added: "Our new centre will provide the extra capacity needed to support customers as they embark on this data analytics journey".

"Organisations in the region will now have access to knowledge, advice and powerful analytics to enable them to make more informed decisions and improve their business operations".
