Two of the county councillors featured in the RTE Investigates programme have resigned from the councillors' representative body, while one has been kicked off.
Councillors Hugh McElvaney and Joe Queenan resigned from the Local Authority Members Association, while Cllr John O'Donnell had his membership terminated after he refused to resign.
The authority says it is 'shattered and saddened' by the revelations about corruption among councillors.
"LAMA remains committed and determined to represent and promote the highest standards which is expected and shared by our members," a statement read.
The RTÉ documentary on Monday contained footage of three county councillors who appeared to accept offers of money or future investment in return for help in obtaining planning permission.
Their behaviour was condemned by Taoiseach Enda Kenny, who said "there is no place in public life for what was witnessed by the people of Ireland on the RTE programme last night."
