One of Ireland's most celebrated chefs made headlines today by claiming that the food served in HSE hospitals was not good enough to feed sick people.
Oliver Dunne, whose cooking in the Bon Appétit and Cleaver East restaurants has earned him a Michelin Star, says that the food he has seen served on trays in hospitals is often inedible.
He said: "You know it can be a little ice-cream scoop of mashed potato that is completely dry and horrible, and then there would be some sort of peas on your plate that would be completely dehydrated, and then a slice of meat again that is dry."
"It is just very unappetising for people in hospital who are trying to recover and get well and stron," he added.
