A parcel delivery depot has been robbed in west Dublin.

Parcel Motel says the facility at Adamstown was broken into on Monday morning at around 2.00am.

Any customers who had a parcel stored there have been asked to e-mail support@parcelmotel.com.

Those using the Adamstown facility, at the Maxol Service Station, are being re-directed to the company's Lucan Texaco location on the N4.

A Parcel Motel spokesperson said: "Parcel Motel takes any security issues extremely seriously.

"We have contacted the local gardaí who are currently managing the issue.

"All affected customers have been contacted and Parcel Motel will be reimbursing customers the value of any packages that have been affected."

Gardaí confirm they are investigating the theft incident on Newcastle Road.

They say no arrests have been made, but the investigation is ongoing.

Pacel Motel allows customers to shop online and collect purchases at a locker at a time that suits them.

Those selling online can also use the service to send items to a specific address or to another Parcel Motel user.

The network is made up of over 10,000 lockers in more than 124 different locations around Ireland.

Most are located in petrol stations, convenience stores, supermarkets and shopping centres.

According to the terms and conditions on its website, the company will cover the replacement value of any goods or merchandise stolen, lost or damaged or €100 - whichever is least.
