Former Smiths frontman, Morrissey, has revealed that he is being treated for cancer.
The singer stated in an interview with Spanish newspaper El Mundo that he has undergone a series of treatments.
“They have scraped cancerous tissues four times already, but whatever,” Morrissey told the paper. “If I die, then I die. And if I don’t, then I don’t. Right now I feel good. I am aware that in some of my recent photos I look somewhat unhealthy, but that’s what illness can do. I’m not going to worry about that, I’ll rest when I’m dead.”
The Guardian reports that even though he has been treated for several illnesses, this is the first time he has mentioned cancer.
The singer has previously been treated for an ulcer, double pneumonia, food poisoning and then a respiratory infection.
Morrissey is currently performing a World Tour and his latest album, World Peace Is None of Your Business, was released in July.
