Dublin's Boulder Media animation studio has announced that it is expanding its workforce and moving to a larger studio.

The company is "adding several new animation positions to its operations in Dublin" to support its growing production pipeline.

Boulder Media currently recruiting for positions in conceptual design, 2D and 3D animation, and computer generated imagery (CGI).

It currently employs 160 people and has produced shows for Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, the BBC, and Disney. 

Robert Cullen, Boulder Media's creative director, commented on these plans: "We couldn't be more thrilled about the opportunities we can offer our crew.

"We're bringing to life some of the world's most famous and popular brands here in Dublin. It's unique and very special both for our studio and the local industry."

In July of last year, British toy company Hasbro bought the Irish firm for an undisclosed sum.

A number of its current projects are linked to its characters, including a Transformers series.

Hasbro is a client of the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland. The department's minister, Mary Mitchell O’Connor and IDA CEO, Martin Shanahan, attended today's announcement.
