Pharmaceutical company Mallinckrodt will add 45 high-skilled jobs at its new facility in Blanchardstown, north Dublin.
While the company has been in Ireland for 25 years, this investment represents a move "up the food chain," according to Dr. David Keenan, Managing Director of Mallinckrodt Pharmaceutical Ireland, who joined Breakfast Business this morning.
It has invested €95m in its new Dublin office. Most of the company's Irish activity has been in manufacturing, but this new project will be the centre of its global research and development for medical devices.
The jobs include roles in software development, product design, and engineering.
"There's always change," Dr Keenan commented when asked about the impact of Brexit on his business.
He added that there is an international "war for talent" in the sector and that Ireland remains an attractive country for international staff to relocate to, despite issues such as the current housing shortage.
When these vacancies have been filled the company's Dublin headcount will rise to 120.
