Last year, Ireland's most popular car was the Hyundai Tucson. But it turns out that we were the only nation to fully embraced the South Korean model.
In fact, it didn't feature in the top 10 most popular cars around the world in 2016.
The Toyota Corolla led the way. It was Ireland's seventh most popular car - 3,718 were sold.
Over its lifetime over 44 million Corolla's have been sold.
The Ford F Series was the second most popular - you don't see many of them around these parts...
Around Europe a few models dominated - with two cars in pole position in a combined 10 counties:
The Volkswagen Golf was the top selling car in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria and Luxembourg.
While the Skoda Octavia topped sales charts in Poland, Czech Republic, Finland, Switzerland, and Estonia.
Britain's favourite car was the Ford Fiesta.
When it comes to brands, with its dedicated following across the continent, Germany's Volkswagen is the clear market leader.
Despite the popularity of the Octavia - Skoda is out-sold by Renault, Fiat, and Ford.
Nationalism plays a role in car choice, with both Renault and Fiat selling very strongly in their French and Italian home markets.
Across the Atlantic, the Ford F-Series is followed by Chevrolet Silverado and the Ram P/U (which are both also pick-up trucks), the Toyota Camry (a saloon), and the Honda Civic complete the top five.

In Japan, the hybrid Toyota Prius was the most popular car - 248,258 were sold.
The top three best sellers in the country were all Toyota - again this is its home market.
