"With this centre, we hope to tap into the excellent talent pool available in Galway to make further enhancements in existing products and to develop new and innovative products."
IDA Ireland’s chief executive Martin Shanahan said that these new jobs represent "an important win" for the region.
The Wood Group, a multinational oil and gas services company headquartered in Aberdeen, will also create 10 new positions in Galway.
It provides data analytics for the fuel and power sectors - it already employs 100 people in the city.
All of these positions will be based in the Galway Technology Park.
