The first payments of the Local Property Tax have been deposited into the bank account of the coalition. €1.3 million had been paid by the end of March. That is according to figures from the Department of Finance published this evening.
It is unclear at this stage how many houses this would relate to but it would be 5,200 homes at €250 each.
The Department of Finance revealed tax revenues are €47 million better than expected in the first 3 months of the year. Though much of this is down to a large Corporation Tax payment that came in unexpectedly.
This was somewhat offset though with €72 million less from VAT and €35 million less in excise payments.
The Exchequer figures also show that spending is almost €700 million less than at this point last year with no sign yet of any overspends in the Departments of Health and Social Protection.
