83 jobs are being lost in Dublin.
Johnson Brothers in Ballymount is to outsource the the warehouse and transport operations of the company by the end of the month.
200 other workers at the facility will not be affected by the decision.
The company says discussions with employee representatives will begin immediately.
Company background
The firm was foundation in 1893 by 4 brothers and is a privately-owned company.
It is a distributor of grocery multiples, wholesale, convenience, forecourts and pharmacy channels.
The group operates through a number of separate trading divisions generating turnover in excess of €275,000,000 on a consolidated basis, the company says.
Its activities are supported by centralised Group Functions in Administration and Logistics based on the M50 in Dublin.
It currently employs 283 people with the announcement today reducing the workforce to 200 by the end of January.
