The 2-hour work stoppage next week at Aer Lingus has been called off.
Officials from the union SIPTU have voted to withdraw the planned industrial action on Monday following talks at Dublin Airport.
Represenatives of the trade union and management at the airline are now to attend a non-binding hearing at the Labour Court.
The proposal was put forward by bodies ICTU and IBEC.
This was accepted by SIPTU after clarifications were considered this afternoon.
Union warning
It was expected the action would grounded flights at Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports.
While the airline had promised to “do everything possible…to minimise disruption”.
However there is caution that the action will be back on the table if a resolution to the €748 million pension fund deficit is not found.
Dermot O’Loughlin is from SITU and had this warning for management.
