The technical difficulties with AIB debit cards has been resolved. The bank says customers were unable to withdraw money from ATMs of other banks for a time this afternoon.
AIB is apologising for the problem which it says was caused from an issue with a third-party service provider.
The bank says no customer will be out of pocket as a result of the technical problem.
Earlier it said customers were unable to withdraw funds from ATMs and that it was investigating problems with visa debit cards.
This was the second Irish bank in less than 24 hours to see a technical problem with its systems.
Earlier today Bank of Ireland reported a problem with delayed payments overnight to customers.
It blamed a late-arriving file for the delay and said only some payments were delayed.
BOI said that problem has since been resolved.
