The website has announced that it is setting up its hospitality innovation lab in the capital and its customer experience team will also be based here.
It's not yet clear how many jobs will be created it's understood up to 100 positions will come on stream.
Airbnb joins a growing list of innovative technology companies locating operations in Dublin.
Welcoming the company's decision today, Barry O'Leary, the Chief Executive Officer of IDA Ireland, the Irish government's foreign investment agency, said "Airbnb is a highly successful company bringing fresh, innovative ideas to the travel market and the broader digital economy. The company has already become a powerful brand globally, and it is great news to see Ireland now getting a chance to share in the company's success and future development."
The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation has also welcomed the decision.
Richard Bruton met senior executives from the company during an IDA investment trip to America last October.
He says the decision to choose Ireland is a major endorsement of the talent of the countries workforce.
