Discount retailer Aldi is to stock its own range of First Communion dresses. The supermarket is to offer two different designs and accessories including shrugs, handbags and gloves.
The first dress features a satin-bodice with princess seams and an embroidered and sequined skirt. While the second dress features a satin-bodice with two layers of organza over a satin skirt.
The dresses are available from Sunday March 16th at all stores but stocks will be limited. Aldi says the dresses will cost €24.99.
The retailer adds that research shows families spent in the region of €713 on their child's Communion last year - with €163 the average cost of an outfit.
Aldi Ireland's Group Buying Director Rob Farrell said "Our Irish buying team has worked hard to source elegantly designed dresses from quality fabrics with every attention to detail".
Aldi says the products will be available to fit sizes 7-8 years and 9-10 years.
