The company is opening a 6,000 square foot flagship store in the Jervis Shopping Centre in Dublin, where Taoiseach Enda Kenny made the announcement this afternoon. The 100 new positions will primarily be based there and at the company's manufacturing plant in Westport, Co. Mayo.
The jobs are expected to commence during 2014 and 2015. Carraig Donn already employs 450 people, and operates 32 shops nationwide.
At the announcement, Enda Kenny said, "I am delighted to welcome 100 new jobs being created by this Irish success story. This follows on from Carraig Donn's expansion two years ago with the creation of 150 jobs. This is a great example of how an indigenous business can succeed and thrive in the highly competitive retail market.
"I wish the company continued success and can promise that the Government will continue to promote pro-business policies so that we can build further on the 1,200 jobs being created each week," the Taoiseach concluded.
