A ghost estate in Co. Cavan has sold for €210,000 at a distressed property auction in Dublin. The development in Cavan town contains 5 completed houses, 4 unfinished and planning for a further 52.

A Dublin house has also been bought for over €600,000 at today's event. It was the most expensive lot sold. The 5-floor, mid-terrace Georgian building is on the south-side of Dublin city.

It was among over 150 sites going under the hammer today, including two hotels in Co. Clare and a former Galway convent.

€33,000 was the lowest price that was paid for a derelict cottage in Charleville in Cork. A 3-bed house in Longford was sold for €35,000, with a 3-bed house in Louth bought for €124,000 and a bar in Co. Cork went for just over €190,000.

The auction room in Dublin's Shelbourne Hotel was full to capacity.

Robert Hoban is the Allsop Space auctions Director and says the regular events are proving a success.
