Former workers from the HMV store in Cork are carrying out a sit-in.
They are the second group of disgruntled employees to protest in this way after a sit-in began at HMV in Limerick on Wednesday.
The workers say they will occupy the premises on Patrick's Street in Cork city centre until they are paid what they say they are owed by the company.
Limerick protest continues
Meanwhile the protest in Limerick is also continuing.
Staff at the two Limerick branches began the protest on Wednesday following the announcement that the Irish operations of the retailer had gone into receivership.
The retailer of filmed entertainment, games, music and portable digital technology products went into administration in the UK on Tuesday.
It operates 16 stores in the Republic of Ireland and employs approximately 300 people.
In a statement the receiver Deloitte has said it will "institute an assessment of the viability of the company and its cost structure, including property occupational costs".
It also says that all efforts will be made to secure a purchaser for the stores.
Speaking to Cork's RedFM Assistant Manager of the Cork store Barry Power explains why they started the sit-in.
