115 new jobs are on the way at DairyGold in Mallow Co Cork.

400 temporary construction jobs will also come on stream as a result of the €83m investment by the company in a new dairy processing facility.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny is currently touring the facility in Mallow, where he will lay the foundation stone of the new plant.

He will then travel to Mitchelstown for the official opening of the €33.5m upgrade of Dairygold's Castlefarm Dairy Processing Complex in the town.

Speaking to RedFM, Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney says it is a major vote of confidence in the region.
