New figures show the Nespresso outlet in the Brown Thomas store in Dublin had a record €6 million turnover last year.

Demand among customers was so strong over the 12 months that an average of three coffee pod deliveries were needed each week.

13 staff members operate three tills at the Nespresso department within the Grafton Street shop.

Brown Thomas shops in Dublin and Cork are the only places where the capsules can be bought in Ireland, after opening in 2011.

However many others take to the internet to get their capsules.

It is reported the company plans to open another Dublin store on Duke Street in the city but there is no confirmed opening date as of yet.
