People in Dublin have over €2,000 more disposable income per head than the national average. According to the Central Statistics Office (CSO), the average person in Dublin has €21,329 in disposable income - which is 11.9% more than the national average of €19,055.
Of the remaining regions, only the mid-east counties had an average disposable income per person higher than the State total.
The border region - with €16,984 - and Midland region with €17,428 fared worst among the other areas when compared with the total.
The CSO says the gap between the maximum and minimum disposable incomes in different areas increased from €2,896 in 2010 to €4,345 in 2011 - with Dublin incomes growing by €632.

Meanwhile those in the lowest regions saw their income fall by €817.
Those with the lowest average disposable income had a decrease of 2.8 percentage points, with those in Donegal the the worst affected.
Dublin was the only region with higher disposable income than the State average during the entire period from 2002 to 2011 - while the Midlands and border regions were at the lowest ends of the income range for the last four years.
