The site, which has 1.3 billion users around the world, apologised for the outage with an online message, saying: "Sorry, something went wrong. We're working on getting this fixed as soon as we can".
The site crashed back in June in an outage reported around the world; in countries including Thailand, Hong Kong, Australia, Japan and Holland.
