A multinational fire and security company is to create more than 500 jobs in Cork over the next three years.
Tyco has proposed to establish a business services centre in the city. The firm is the world's largest fire protection and security company, and provides more than 3 million customers around the globe with fire protection and security products.
The proposed Cork hub would have several functions - including sourcing and procurement, customer service, research and development, information technology, and finance.

The project is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland.
Tyco Chief Executive Officer George Oliver said "We are pleased to propose the creation of a new business services centre in Cork. This centre will enable us to deliver services more efficiently, increasing our competitiveness, customer satisfaction and shareholder value".
While the Jobs Minister Richard Bruton added "Today's announcement that Tyco is establishing an operation in Cork with the potential to create more than 500 jobs is a huge boost for the city and for Ireland".
The firm has more than 65,000 employees in 1,000 locations in nearly 50 countries.
