A number of people have taken to their social media accounts to warn against a new hack, which is targeting Google Chrome users.
Those affected reported seeing a pop-up, prompting them to download and install a 'missing font' file. Clicking on the dialogue box does initiate a download, but the file contains malware.
NeoSmart Technologies first identified the hack and has flagged some ways to identify the scam, but it can be tricky to the untrained eye.
At present, Chrome is not identifying this file as malicious, so the best thing to do is ignore.
If you have downloaded this already, you should download anti-virus and scan your device immediately.
