Ireland's defeat of France in Paris to win the Six Nations was another of the year's biggest Irish sporting events on the social network.
More than 200,000 tweets were sent celebrating the win throughout the day, while Brian O'Driscoll got 39,000 retweets when he said goodbye to Irish rugby.
