Irish tech fans are getting their hands on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus this morning as many retailers opened their doors early for the launch.
Apple says both models have larger screens and thinner handsets than previous models, and is also promising better battery life than the iPhone 5s.
Despite complaints from owners of the new iPhone 6 Plus that the device bends after being placed in a tight pocket, sales this morning are expected to be high.
Apple has said that four million iPhone 6s were pre-ordered in the first 24 hours of going on sale in markets where it was available. It compares to only two million pre-orders for the iPhone 5 in 2012.
The new models see prices start at €699 for a 16GB 4.7" iPhone 6, up to €999 for a 128GB 5.5" iPhone 6 Plus.
However these prices may fall depending on a person's contract with their operator.
John Kennedy is editor of Silicon Republic. He says we have yet to hear from Apple on the "bendgate" issue.
The new phones are being sold across the Vodafone, Meteor, O2 and Three networks.
