A group has lodged a formal application with the Guinness Book of Records to have Ireland's bank bailout recognised as the world's most expensive per capita.
Debt Justice Action says the €70 billion needed to re-capitalise lenders including Anglo Irish Bank, AIB, Bank of Ireland and Irish Life and Permanent is the costliest since The Great Depression of the 1920s.
