Irish people spend more on Christmas presents than most other countries - including France, Germany and Canada.
A new survey from PriceWaterhouse Cooper finds we spend an average of €965 on gifts.
That is almost twice as much as people in the US, and is €100 more than people in the UK.
It is not clear whether that is because Irish people are more generous, that we have more young people or that presents just cost more here.
It follows a study yesterday which showed that 52% of Irish people have regifted a Christmas present at some point in their lives.
The PriceSpy.ie survey on Christmas gift buying habits also revealed that our tendency to regift may be spurred out of last resort - with 33% of men people only beginning their Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve.
Women prove to be far more prepared, with 12% having finished all of their Christmas shopping before the month of December.
People from Cork are the nation's list lovers - with 78% of respondents admitting to being super organised.
Online shopping has been revealed to be more popular than ever, with 86% of people shopping over the internet for Christmas gifts this year.
