Ireland, Leinster and Lions rugby great Brian O'Driscoll has found a new team.

Retired from the game since 2014, the 37-year-old has now joined the sports division of Teneo Holdings.

He will be working as a special adviser to the New York-based advisory firm, primarily with its London-based sports team Blue Rubicon.

Teneo, which was co-founded by Irishman Declan Kelly in 2011, also intends for O'Driscoll to work with its non-sports clients, advising on things such as succession and leadership.

The position is not full time, so O'Driscoll is free to continue his punditry work with Newstalk, as well BT Sport and ITV in the UK.

Speaking to the Irish Times, O'Driscoll said:

"Given the level of clients and brands that they are associated with, there’s a huge amount of experience I can gain while adding my own experience to a sector that they are looking at building.

"It’s a great opportunity for me to grow and evolve."
