The hunt is on for the newest Irish lotto multi-millionaire.
A single ticket scooped the jackpot last night worth €10.6 million.
It was sold in the south of the country.
The lucky numbers were 3, 8, 11, 23, 27 and 33.
The bonus number was 36.
The jackpot was last won on Saturday December 15th by a couple from Co. Kildare who scooped over €4.6 million.
Highest jackpot since last March
It had been rolling ever since and in last Saturday's draw 75 Lotto players matched 5 of the 6 winning numbers.
3 of these also matched the bonus number and won €25,000 each.
The Lotto jackpot had not been this high since March of last year.
It last hit the €10 million mark on March 28th and rolled on to €11.5 million.
Back than 2 lucky ticket-holders won that jackpot, each receiving €5,763,000.
They were Giustina Macari from Kildare and a couple from Co. Meath who remained private.
Yesterday's winning €6 quick pick was sold at Scanlon's Newsagents on Liberty Square in Thurles, Co. Tipperary.
Paula McEvoy is the PR Manager with the National Lottery and says the win has been a long time coming.
