Mark Little will no longer act as Stoyful's CEO. The former RTE journalist co-founded the social news agency which specialises in authenticating user-generated content and discovering viral videos.

The announcement comes one year after the company was acquired by Rupert Murdoch's News Corp - selling for €18m.

Mr Little will take up a new role as director of editorial innovation. Writing on Storyful's blog Mr Little described the move as a "long-awaited homecoming".

He continued: "I’m going back to the place where it all began, with a determined focus on harvesting and executing ideas that will help shape a rapidly changing media landscape."

He will remain the company's main ambassador.

In a recent piece for The Irish Times Mark Little said that in spite of his business success, he primarily sees himself as a journalist: "In my professional life I’m a journalist. In a broader sense I’m a storyteller, creating a business based on storytelling. I would never describe myself as an entrepreneur."

Rahul Chopra will become the company's new CEO. He was appointed chief revenue officer after the News Corp deal and has also operated as News Corp's senior vice president for video.

Storyful supply content to some of the world's biggest and most influential news agencies, including Wall Street Journal, the BBC, New York Times, YouTube, ITN and Channel 4 News.

The company has continued to expand, and recently announced the creation of 30 new jobs in its Dublin headquarters.
