MEP for Dublin Paul Murphy says staff at the Revenue Commissioners have been told that calls are no longer being recorded due to data protection concerns.
A spokesperson for Revenue said calls in some areas were no longer being recorded during a reconfiguration of the system.
She also said Revenue "do not consider that there are data protection concerns", but stopped short of saying there were none.
