New figures from the Insolvency Service of Ireland show just four insolvency deals involving mortgage debt have been approved by creditors.
The report published by the ISI this morning reveals the group is dealing with more than €300 million of debt, and has more than 500 cases in process - 300 of those involve mortgage debt.
The group reached 55 arrangements so far this year - however the ISI says the overall number of agreements reached to date is lower than expected.
Lorcan O'Connor, is Director of the ISI He says he expects the number of deals involving mortgage debt to rise, and this advice for people with serious debt issues.
The statistics also show that more people were declared bankrupt in the first three months of this year than all of last year.
66 bankruptcies were confirmed between January and March this year, more than all of 2013.
