WhatsApp is continuing to add little bits and pieces to its offering, all to enhance the user experience. The latest addition is a tagging feature that is incredibly handy for group chats.
Placing the @ symbol before a contact's name, will ensure they receive a notification, even if they have the conversation muted. It also works with contacts that you haven’t saved to your address book, but are part of the same group chat as you. This feature works on iOS and Android, but not on the desktop offering.
This is useful for those of us that have many group chats on the go at any one time.
This follows the recent addition of the "quote" feature, which enables users to quote a message from a friend, making it clear what they are replying to. Simply highlight the particular message you wish to quote and hit the reply button.
