200 new jobs have been announced for Co. Louth. They will be created over the next five years at National Pen in Dundalk. The company provides businesses with imprinted pens, pencils and other specialty items for promotions and advertising.
The International headquarters currently services 19 markets outside North America. The company says this expansion will bring its permanent workforce to 459 by the end of 2017.
Countries serviced from the Irish facility include Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, UK, Portugal, Spain, Japan and South Korea. These new jobs will be created across the company in its sales, customer services, manufacturing, technical and administrative functions.
The firm was established in 1966 in Florida and has a US Headquarters in San Diego. It also has operations in Mexico, Tennessee, France and China and opened its Dundalk facility in 1987.
The Taoiseach says it shows a commitment to Ireland from a key export company.
While the Minister for Jobs Richard Bruton added that the announcement "is a great boost for Ireland and for the North East".
