A receiver has been to Muckross Park Hotel in Killarney. It is owned and run by Bill Cullen and his partner Jackie Lavin.

It has emerged that Declan Taite of Farrell Grant Sparks was appointed receiver and manager of the hotel yesterday.

He has also been appointed receiver to Boisdale Holdings Limited, Silvermire Properties Limited and certain assets of Bill Cullen.

The Muckross Park Hotel will continue trading and all deposits and gift vouchers will be honoured. All those employed at the hotel will be kept on over the course of its receivership.

'No impact on bookings'

Bill Cullen and Jackie Lavin took over the hotel in 1990.

The receiver and hotel Management say that this appointment "will not have any impact on current or future bookings".

"It is intended that the hotel will continue to grow its business and revenue over the course of the Receivership" it added in a statement.
