The busiest hour of the day on Twitter in Ireland is between 10pm and 11pm at night.
According to research by digital agency EightyTwenty, Wednesday is the busiest day of the week on Twitter here. The study also shows that Dublin and Cork users post almost half of all Irish tweets.
However it also reveals that the most active tweeters per head of population are in Louth, Meath and Kildare.
The lowest tweeting counties are Roscommon, Leitrim and Longford.

It also finds that sports and politics are the most popular topics on the social media site.
The study took hourly logs of Twitter trends between July 8th and July 14th. It found a total of 1,340 trends were logged.
But it adds that as little as 160 tweets could get a person trending.
