Low-cost carrier Ryanair is to create 200 new Irish jobs at its Dublin office campus in Swords. The positions will primarily be in technology, software development and digital marketing.
The airline made the announcement as it opened its new offices in the Airside Business Park. The Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Finance Minister Michael Noonan joined Ryanair's Chairman to officially open the campus.
Ryanair has also confirmed that in the coming year (to March 2015) its traffic will grow from 81.5 million passengers to over 84 million.
This comes as it opens new bases in Lisbon, Athens, Brussels, Rome as well as expanding its route network from Dublin and London Stansted.
Ryanair Chairman David Bonderman said "These are exciting times as we return to strong traffic growth to/from Ireland as a direct result of the Irish Government’s foresighted decision to scrap the travel tax from April 1st".
Ryanair says the repeal of this tax has led directly to Ryanair opening 21 new routes to Ireland in 2014.
