The Sunday Business Post newspaper has filed for the appointment of an interim examiner in the High Court.
Counsel for Post Publications Limited who publishes of the paper said it employs 76 people and is seeking up to 25 redundancies. It has been loss making since January of 2009.
The paper was part of Thomas Crosbie Holdings (TCH) which went into receivership yesterday.
The court heard that the paper has seen its revenues fall to €7.3 million in 2012 from €15.6 million in 2007 as a result of the drop in advertising. The court was told that advertising revenues dropped 68% over that period.
Counsel for the publication says there have been expressions of interest in the newspaper.
Judge Peter Kelly was told the newspaper was behind on its annual rent of €440,000 and was seeking to reduce this with its landlord.
