Talks are expected to take place today between employees at the Paris Bakery in Dublin, the business owner and his solicitor.

A dispute over wages has seen a number of workers occupy the premises on Moore Street in the city since last Wednesday.

They say they are owed over €50,000 in wages.

Yesterday, the Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams visited the premises on Moore Street.

"Workers have been left in an impossible situation with some unable to pay their rent, one made homeless, and others not paid since February. They should not have to occupy their workplace to get paid. Non payment of wages should be a criminal offence" he said.

He added that Sinn Fein will raise the issue in the Dáil this week.

The National Asset Management Agency (NAMA) owns the loans belonging to a company which owns the site, which is earmarked for redevelopment.

The bakery, which employs some 70 workers, could be forced to shut its doors in June.

One of the workers, Anissa Hosany, says she has not been paid for two months and is now late with her rent.
