Despite being on television for 27 seasons, The Simpsons has always been at its best when skewering pop culture fads. And as the first family of animation show is the following clip, Pokémon Go is no exception.
A new clip has been released that show’s Homer, Bart and Lisa on a trip to Springfield Zoo. While the two kids are gleefully admiring the majesty of nature, their father is a bit more preoccupied with capturing a Rattata or Sandshrew. As his kids up the ante to try and pull his attention away from the smash-hit game.
Pokémon Go has become the biggest mobile gaming zeitgeist since Candy Crush invitations blanketed your Facebook notifications. There are reports of a live-action Pokémon film in the works, injuries and muggings and cadavers, and even Yelp, the online review website, has added a ‘Pokémon-friendly’ feature to its app. Whether or not the world’s current obsession is just a passing trend or something here to stay will be played out over the weeks to come.
